Popular Press
The Popular Press—the leading publisher of books on popular culture, throughout America and worldwide—was acquired by the University of Wisconsin Press in 2003. The Popular Press is now an imprint under the University of Wisconsin Press banner, publishing books on all aspects of mass culture, both present and past. Backlist titles from the Popular Press are available.
Ray B. Browne and Pat Browne, founders and longtime directors of Popular Press, have promoted and encouraged the scholarly study of popular culture through their efforts at the Popular Press, the Journal of Popular Culture, the Popular Culture Association, and the Department of Popular Culture at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
