This title celebrates the craftsmanship of Michigan Union carpenters. Retired members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners share pride in their skill and accomplishments, through edited oral histories in this volume. Their histories convery a sense of self, a sense of dignity, and an appreciation of the significance of their work.

Philip A. Korth joined the faculty of Michigan State in 1967. He is coauthor, with Margaret Beegle, of I Remember Like Yesterday: The Auto-Lite Strike of 1934.
