The University of Wisconsin Press is a
publisher of nonfiction books (trade, scholarly, and Midwest
regional), volumes of poetry selected through a juried prize
program, and scholarly and professional
journals.
Retailers and wholesalers are encouraged
to order from our domestic sales representatives
or our international sales representatives. Orders may also be
placed directly with the Press through the Chicago Distribution
Center.
RETURNS POLICY
Address for overstock returns:

Conditions for overstock returns: No permission required. Books must be in saleable
condition without bookseller's marks or labels and must be packed
by booksellers to arrive undamaged at publisher's address. A
statement must be enclosed with return shipments, specifying
the following:
- publisher's invoice number and date of
original sale
- list price and discount applied to each
title
- ISBN and book title for each title returned
- quantity returned of each title
- exact dollar amount of credit claimed
- books returned must be sent at bookseller's
expense.
Period of eligibility for overstock
returns: Eighteen months from invoice
date. Superseded editions are returnable up to 60 days after
publication of new editions. OSI or OP titles are not returnable
as of six months after declaration of status.
Credit allowed:
100% if bookseller follows requirements, otherwise credit will
be issued at maximum discount. Once credit has been issued, it
will not be adjusted retroactively. Credit balances may be used
for future purchases or are refundable upon written request.
Address for damaged/defective returns: University of Wisconsin Press, Attn: Returns,
c/o Chicago Distribution Center, 11030 S. Langley Ave., Chicago,
IL 60628 U.S.A. Return entire book. Claims for damages and errors
must be made within 30 days of invoice date. The Press and CDC
urge retailers to refuse delivery of any packages obviously damaged
by shippers so that CDC may properly claim damages from the shipper.
If, upon opening cartons, you discover damaged books, please
save the packaging until your claim is resolved.
