Retirements Are Journals Division Milestones
(

marketing manager Toni Gunnison, customer service coordinator Deb Rasmussen,
Rita Emmert, and Beth Johnson
The first six months of 2013 marked the end of an era in the Journals Division
at the University of Wisconsin Press, as four staff with a combined 141 years
of distinguished service have retired. We cannot thank them enough for all of
the contributions they have made to our successful journals program. By the
time you read this, we will have already hired some or all of the new staff, but
they will have a tough act to follow!
Susan Kau
(27 years) has been the journals production manager and
assistant division manager, keeping in constant contact with journal editorial
offices to put out 33 journal issues per year, in both print and electronic
versions.
Beth Johnson
(37 years) has been the journals bookkeeper and
honorary mom to the whole Press.
Adrienne Omen
(31 years), advertising
manager, has helped all our journals succeed through extra revenues from
advertising, now available as both print ads and electronic banners.
Rita
Emmert
(46 years) started as a typist in 1968 and has very capably filled many
roles, including customer service and accounts payable clerk.
