Original Series Description
The State of Wisconsin has long been regarded as a model for public policy innovation. This heritage has derived from the historic “Wisconsin Idea,” a view that government practitioners and university experts could effectively cooperate to solve problems of concern to the state and its citizens. A commitment to this approach has been sustained by the Robert M. La Follette Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. This series identifies and explores public policy issues, especially at levels of government below the federal level, reflecting the changes in federalism in recent years which have placed an increasing emphasis on the role of state and local governments.
